Christmas Eve

It was a fun Christmas at the Hawk-Mathews-Beadle home. The pictures are completely out of order, but cute nonetheless. We have a few Christmas traditions in our family. One of them is opening pajamas on Christmas Eve and another is decorating cookies. Maya definitely enjoyed eating more than decorating. Here are some pictures of our day. Pictures of Christmas day coming soon. Hopefully.

only an aunt

So, I found this picture while I was looking throught my mom's photos, and I died laughing. I'm not sure what happened here, but somehow Megan ended up in the tub with Maya. Maya sure loves her!

one year and 18 days ago...

my beautiful baby girl was born. We had a ladybug-themed birthday party for her on the 19th, and she had a great time. She definitely enjoyed being the center of attention, and she got LOTS of presents. Our living room is now flooded with toys. It's been such a wonderful year having her in our home. I don't know what we ever did without her. She's been such blessing to us, and we look forward to watching her continue to grow and learn new things.

And she's off...

Maya took her first steps a few weeks ago, and she is harder than ever to keep up with. She still falls down a lot. Sometimes I don't think she's going to live to see her first birthday, but even so I can't believe how well she is doing. She's such a cutie and this is such a fun age. I love watching her grow and learn to new things, but it's sad to see my baby turning into a toddler. Where does the time go?

My Blue Eyed Girl

Sadly, my computer has been broken and I haven't been able to get on here and make a new post for a loooong time. I have lots to post about and right now have every intention of updating everything, but I really doubt that will happen, so for those of you who miss this cute face-here's a picture just for you. Hopefully my computer will get fixed soon, so I can update everyone and keep up with what's going on in all of your lives!

Nathan and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary on the 26th. I'll spare you another mushy post and just say I LOVE YOU Nathan. Thank you for the best three years of my life and for the most BEAUTIFUL little girl in the world!

Mall of America

A few weeks ago I went to Mall of America with my mom, sister, Maya, and my mom's bff and my other mother Carla. It was serisouly the best time ever. I had way too much fun and spent way too much money. Here are some pictures from our trip.

The gang in front of a restuarant we ate at called Kokomo Island Cafe. It was yummy!
My mom and Carla and her fun drink.

Grandma and Maya hanging out at the Love Sac Store.
Maya and her Nana.

No, I wasn't sick. This is Meg and I at the oxygen bar. It was amazing! The fam in front of the mall.

My Little Ray of Sunshine

So, for those of you who don't like mush and blubbering, this post is not for you. Fair warning. I was watching the Today show the other day (like I do every day) and they had this guy on the show singing a song about this man who thought life was horrible and sad etc etc., but then God gave him a sunset and let him see how wonderful life could be. So, I was sitting there thinking about that and realized that Maya is my sunset. She's my little ray of sunshine. She came to me at a time when I thought my world was falling apart, and she helped me see that no matter how bad things get there are always things to be grateful for. There is nothing in this world that I am more grateful for than my little girl. She is seriously the best thing that ever happened to me. I mean, not only was I blessed to be a mom, but I have the best kid a mom could ask for. I'm gonna brag a little here, but I can't go anywhere without people stopping to tell me how beautiful and well-behaved she is. It's true. And I love her to pieces for it. Le'ts just hope it stays that way. :) Ok, so I'm done for the day. Just wanted to brag on my baby a little bit and let her know how much I love her cause hopefully she reads this someday.

Everything we've been up to...

I'm a little behind on blogging. Today Maya turned 7 months, and I'm blogging about her 6 month check-up. What can you do though? Everything went really well. She's still the biggest baby ever at 18 lbs. 12 oz. (92nd percentile) and 27 3/4 in. (97th percentile). We started giving her table food, but she doesn't really want anything to do with it at this point. She's crawling around like crazy, but it's her own little version of crawling. I don't know that she'll ever get the hang of actual crawling. She's a little water baby. We go swimming a few days a week with my mom and the girl is more tan than I am! All in all things are going well, at these last 7 months have been wonderful! I love you Tink!

The next pictures are of the 4th and 5th of July. Our 4th got rained out, so we went back to Hillsboro (where my dad is from and where we always watched fireworks when I was a kid) to watch fireworks on the 5th. I was so excited for Maya's first 4th and to see her reaction to the fireworks, but she slept through all of it.

Out at the lake before the fireworks. Getting sleepy.

Helping Daddy eat a yummy sno-cone.

Maya and her Aunt Megan.

Maya and her cute 4th of July outfit. Daddy hates the big flower headbands, but Mommy can't get enough of them.

Girls' Night

My little sister spent the night the other night, and we decided it would be fun to pamper ourselves a little bit. It was fun to be able to spend time with her. She's leaving for BYU-I in the fall, so I have to take advantage of the time I have left with her. Maya too. I'm sad that Maya won't have her Aunt Megan around to spoil her. We sure are going to miss her, but I'm so happy that she's going out to Idaho. I has the absolute best time out there, and I know she will too!

Our Afternoon At the Park

Today it was such a nice day out, so we decided to take Maya for her first trip to the park. There's a really nice park here in Troy, and since it was nice out everyone had the same idea we did. Needless to say, the park was a little crowded. Maya had her first ride in the little baby swing. She liked it for the first mintute, and then decided she was bored with it as you can kind of see in the picture. There's not a whole lot else you can do with a 5 month old at the park, but all in all it was a fun day!

A little behind...

So, as usual I am way behind on what's going on in the Hawk house. Here's some random pictures of our beautiful girl. She's growing up so fast...almost 6 months now! And I'll keep this short because she's screaming for some attention right now!

The Great Florida Adventure

I just got back from Disney World with my mom, sister, brother and Maya. It was such a fun trip. My mom was enjoying herself so much that she extended our reservations for a day. We visited all the disney parks and were out until at least midnight every night. It was a busy week to say the least. I know there are a billion pictures, but it was hard to narrow them down.

The boat that we rented. My sister drove. Scary.
My Momma

Eating with the Pooh characters.
Me and my super cute Minnie ears.
Dinner with Piglet. Maya was loving him. Her? I'm not sure.
Maya and her Fairy Godmother
Maya looking extremely cute in her sunglasses.
My beautiful sister. Me eating some yummy Norwegian desserts. They brought out three for the family to share, but I ended up eating most of it. I definitely had to forget the diet for the week.

Maya's very first ride at Disney World. She wasn't sure what to think of it. Meg and I eating some yummy cheesecake and brownie from the bakery at the Boardwalk. That's where our hotel was. Maya after a long day at Magic Kingdom.
