I have been meaning to blog about my dad for awhile now, but have put it off for lots of different reasons. For those of you who don't know, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in April of 2007. He was given about 6-8 months to live, but made it about a year and half before he passed away on September 7th. It has been a tough year and half and an even tougher month as my brother and sister and I have had to deal with him being gone, but a lot of positive things have come out of this tough situation. My dad never ceased to amaze me with his positive attitude and his determination to beat the cancer. At his funeral the minister talked about how it was my dad's fear that his children would blame God for this horrible thing that was happening, and it was a great comfort to me to know that my dad didn't blame God. Everything truly does happen for a reason, and while I don't know all of the reasons that this has happened or what exactly I'm supposed to learn from this trial, I was able to see a different side of my dad and I was able to have a relationship with him that I haven't had over the past several years. I think about him everyday and I'll never stop missing him, but I know that Heavenly Father will continue to bless me with the strength to get through this until the day that I see my dad again.

Cardinals Game!
A few weeks ago Nathan and I went to Cards game with our friends Josh and Shyann. It was the first time we had been able to go to a game all summer, and unfortunately it was a pretty boring game. We left in the 6th or 7th inning and no one had even scored yet. I think they even ended up losing the game. Oh, well...if nothing else the food is good, right?

Viva Las Vegas!
For those of you that don't know, I'm a little obsessed with Elton John, so this is me at the Elton John store pretending to play the piano.

God Blessed the Broken Road...
.jpg)
It's hard to believe that at this exact time two years ago Nathan and I had just been sealed in the St. Louis temple. How time flies! And for one of the first times in my life I'm really at a loss for words. I feel so blessed to have Nathan in my life...I really am the luckiest girl in the world. It has been a crazy two years with a lot of ups and downs...probably more downs than ups, and I could never have gotten through any of it without Nathan. I never believed in soul mates and finding "the one," but then I met Nathan and I really believe that he is the only for me. I'm looking forward to everything the future holds for us, especially our little daughter coming in December! I love you, Nathan!

It's a GIRL!
I know it has been about a million years since I have updated my blog, but I am back and with some very exciting news! Nathan and I are going to have a baby girl! Yay! We had our ultrasound yesterday and it was amazing. I bawled through the entire thing while Nathan and my mom just sat there like the rocks that they are. I guess someone has to be the emotional one. We are both very excited, and I will do my best to keep everyone updated on what's going on in our lives.

Here are 7 things you may not know about me...
1. I love pajamas! Half of my wardrobe consists of pajama pants. I would never wear regular clothes if I didn't have to, and I usually don't. My faves are Victoria's Secret Pink collection pants. They're super cute and very comfortable.
2. I'm really shy. I'm not sure if that's something that people know or not, but a lot of times I hear from people that they thought I was stuck up until they got to know me better. I promise I'm not stuck up, I just have to be approached first, and even then it takes me awhile to get out of my shell.
3. I love Elton John. I don't know what it is about him, but I think he's one of the most talented people I've ever seen or heard. It's a lifelong goal of mine and my friend Jen's to be able to go see one of his concerts. The problem is that he usually only plays in Vegas and the tickets are around $200, and sadly we just don't have that kind of money. Wish us luck on this one!
4. The smell of the mall is my favorite. If Ralph Lauren made a new scent called "mall" I would wear it. There's just something about that smell that I love. Everytime we go to the mall I'm always telling Nathan how wonderful it smells, and then he tells me I'm crazy.
5. I definitely share Kory's trait of being easily embarassed. I too am one of those people that turns red during an uncomfortble testimony. I obvisouly get embarassed for myself as well. I'll say something and then for days after that be embarassed that once again I opened my big mouth. I'll have to work on that one.
6. I love animals! Growing up I was not an animal person. I was one of those people that thought people who loved their animals. They're not human, you know? But then after my mission my mom got me a dog, and now she is just the love of my life. I've definitely turned into a dog person. I dress her up and let her sleep with me at night...it's just ridiculous!
7. I love blogging! I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. I could spend forever just looking at people's blogs. I know, I'm kind of a loser, but what can you do?
I now tag Andrea. Not that you don't have enough to do with all of your other blogging endeavors, but you're the only one I know that has a blog. :)

Time for Bath!
We don't have any pics of our baby up here yet, so I thought I would post some of her in the tub...it's her favorite time of the week! Not really...it's sad how much we baby her. She's so cute though that we just can't help it. Those of you with dogs will understand this. I don't know what she's going to do when we have kids.
