My Little Ray of Sunshine

So, for those of you who don't like mush and blubbering, this post is not for you. Fair warning. I was watching the Today show the other day (like I do every day) and they had this guy on the show singing a song about this man who thought life was horrible and sad etc etc., but then God gave him a sunset and let him see how wonderful life could be. So, I was sitting there thinking about that and realized that Maya is my sunset. She's my little ray of sunshine. She came to me at a time when I thought my world was falling apart, and she helped me see that no matter how bad things get there are always things to be grateful for. There is nothing in this world that I am more grateful for than my little girl. She is seriously the best thing that ever happened to me. I mean, not only was I blessed to be a mom, but I have the best kid a mom could ask for. I'm gonna brag a little here, but I can't go anywhere without people stopping to tell me how beautiful and well-behaved she is. It's true. And I love her to pieces for it. Le'ts just hope it stays that way. :) Ok, so I'm done for the day. Just wanted to brag on my baby a little bit and let her know how much I love her cause hopefully she reads this someday.

Everything we've been up to...

I'm a little behind on blogging. Today Maya turned 7 months, and I'm blogging about her 6 month check-up. What can you do though? Everything went really well. She's still the biggest baby ever at 18 lbs. 12 oz. (92nd percentile) and 27 3/4 in. (97th percentile). We started giving her table food, but she doesn't really want anything to do with it at this point. She's crawling around like crazy, but it's her own little version of crawling. I don't know that she'll ever get the hang of actual crawling. She's a little water baby. We go swimming a few days a week with my mom and the girl is more tan than I am! All in all things are going well, at these last 7 months have been wonderful! I love you Tink!

The next pictures are of the 4th and 5th of July. Our 4th got rained out, so we went back to Hillsboro (where my dad is from and where we always watched fireworks when I was a kid) to watch fireworks on the 5th. I was so excited for Maya's first 4th and to see her reaction to the fireworks, but she slept through all of it.

Out at the lake before the fireworks. Getting sleepy.

Helping Daddy eat a yummy sno-cone.

Maya and her Aunt Megan.

Maya and her cute 4th of July outfit. Daddy hates the big flower headbands, but Mommy can't get enough of them.

Girls' Night

My little sister spent the night the other night, and we decided it would be fun to pamper ourselves a little bit. It was fun to be able to spend time with her. She's leaving for BYU-I in the fall, so I have to take advantage of the time I have left with her. Maya too. I'm sad that Maya won't have her Aunt Megan around to spoil her. We sure are going to miss her, but I'm so happy that she's going out to Idaho. I has the absolute best time out there, and I know she will too!

Our Afternoon At the Park

Today it was such a nice day out, so we decided to take Maya for her first trip to the park. There's a really nice park here in Troy, and since it was nice out everyone had the same idea we did. Needless to say, the park was a little crowded. Maya had her first ride in the little baby swing. She liked it for the first mintute, and then decided she was bored with it as you can kind of see in the picture. There's not a whole lot else you can do with a 5 month old at the park, but all in all it was a fun day!

A little behind...

So, as usual I am way behind on what's going on in the Hawk house. Here's some random pictures of our beautiful girl. She's growing up so fast...almost 6 months now! And I'll keep this short because she's screaming for some attention right now!
